Overview

A home ready to welcome family back. We reconfigured an underused basement into a comfortable, self-contained level — with a bathroom built for real use — so a daughter and three grandchildren could move in for months and still have a space that felt like their own. Midway through, we discovered a leak coming from the primary bathroom shower above, so we fixed it as part of the project — re-waterproofing, re-tiling, and installing a new glass shower door.

The challenge

The lower level had a small bathroom that didn’t meet the needs of a growing family — grandchildren, visiting guests, and a daughter who needed somewhere to land. There was no real space where extended family could live comfortably without everyone feeling like they were in each other’s way.

Our solution

We remodeled and reconfigured the basement into its own livable level, including a bathroom sized for daily family use. Because the homeowner didn’t want to manage the day-to-day, our Project Lead coordinated every trade and handled questions as they came up — and the final cost landed right around the projected budget.

“

I had my daughter and 3 grandchildren live with us for nearly 3 months. They had plenty of space they could call their own, be happy and not feel as if they are bothering us.
